Giverney Blazer

Just thought I’d drop in a quick post about a new release out today, the Giverney Blazer from Winter Wear Designs!

Petal Perfect Skirt- Bundle Up Women
I previously showed a sneak peek of this here when posting about the Bundle sale on the first.I was given the pleasure of testing this pattern when I needed something to go with my Petal Perfect Skirt. But now the pattern is available! I made mine in vintage seersucker I’d previously sewn with 20 years ago when it was already vintage! Not sure if the dress is still floating around, but I still have the pattern in my stash! Because of the fabric design, I opted for the non-pleat version of this cropped blazer. There’s also a version with a fun front pleat.

I chose to put the sides on the bias to give a slimming effect to the waist, as well as to avoid the harrowing task of matching all those little lines. Hey, I like attention to detail, but some things are just not happening! I like the way the seam lines grace the curves and draw the eye up! I picked to make puffy sleeves because it just felt right with the style. A regular sleeve is also in the pattern, and it can be made short or 3/4 length, lined or unlined, plain, ruched, or with a tab. Tons of options!
Giverney Blazer Seam Finish
This pattern also gives direction on how to add bias trim to the inner seams for a Hong Kong finish. Gorgeous! I used a bit of a Paris print from Modern Yardage that I’d used for my Myrtle. It goes with the French theme of the jacket’s name!
Giverney Blazer
I really like this style, and I love how it can dress up a casual outfit! It’s currently on sale for the release, plus Suzanne has a shop birthday sale Buy One, Get One on now with code BOGO15! Get it here!
